Description
The Malvar grape happens near Madrid, Spain - and hardly anywhere else. That's okay, because it too often yields a fairly mundane wine. However, in the hands of a thoughtful producer and (most importantly) sourced from decomposed granite soils, this Malvar ascends to GREATNESS. A wine lover's wondering nostrils will be reminded of Loire Valley Chenin Blanc. In the mouth, the connotation transfers to, perhaps, a Pouilly-Fuisse effect. Complex and generous, and worthy of being equated to good White Burgundy? And very rare? I'm in!
