2016 Stephane Aviron Cru Beaujolais Sampler!

The Beaujolais region of Burgundy, France has 10 “cru” sub-regions of its own.  Each cru declares the Gamay grape in a particular place-specific way and Stephane Aviron represents 8 of the 10 in separately-bottled renditions.  Here are 4 of our favorites as chosen last Spring at a pre-arrival trade tasting with the producer himself.  Looks like our taste buds were working that day:  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate ratings on these range between 90 and 91+ points!   These 2016’s are very expressive; especially at a cooler temperature, sniffed from a Pinot Noir-style glass, and served with sausages or poultry (they make terrific Thanksgiving wines). This is a rare chance to taste 4 different cru “voices” per one Beaujolais producer, arranged as a 4-bottle Cru Beaujolais Sampler where you get one of each!
