2018 Chalone Chardonnay 750ml

It used to be great, but then was devoured by an uncaring, brand-barfing industry giant.  Now, acquired once more, it is great again.   ... and the price is virtually what it was way back when.

What are we talking about?  A Chardonnay from limestone and decomposed granite-rich slopes 1800 feet above sea level, nearly as high as the Pinnacles National Monument which is but a mile up the (crazy one-lane) road.  Someone made wine here in a chicken coop, once upon a time.  You should learn the rest of the story.  Meanwhile, the wine itself stylistically resembles Pouilly-Fuisse.  - but not in price!
